The map depicted left, shows the relationship and near vicinity of Newport, the capital of the Isle of Wight, to the village of Gatcombe.

Whether you are travelling by car from one of the three major car ferry terminals situated at Yarmouth, East Cowes or Fishbourne, or you are a foot passenger using the bus services provided. All roads lead to Newport !

Our grateful thanks to the Ordnance Survey for the use of extracts from their 1:50 000 Landranger Series Map No.196 - available at all good bookshops and newsagents on the island.

By car, head west out of Newport on the B3223 until you come to a mini roundabout just before Carisbrooke. Turn left up Cedar Hill, then straight across the next mini roundabout and up the Whitcombe Rd, Carry on for about 1.5 miles (2.5 Km) until you see a signpost pointing right to Gatcombe and it's 13th century church. Little Gatcombe Farm is about half a mile on your left.

By bus, from Newport Bus Station you require a No 6 bus which is destined for Blackgang and/or Niton. You will need to alight at the Gatcombe Mill stop which is opposite the signed road to Gatcombe and it's 13th century chuch. Allow approximately 10-15 minutes walk to the farm from the bus stop.
